Tile and Waterproofing
Tile and Waterproofing in Lakewood
Tile is only as good as the layer behind it, and that is where most shower failures begin. Nacaanet sets porcelain, ceramic, and natural stone over cement backer board and a bonded waterproofing membrane, following TCNA Handbook methods and the ANSI A108 series so the grout lines stay tight and the wall behind them stays bone dry for years.
Why Waterproofing Matters
- It stops leaks at the source. A bonded membrane such as Schluter-Kerdi or RedGard keeps water off the framing, not just off the finish.
- It protects the whole room. Sealed corners and a sloped pan prevent the slow rot that hides behind a good-looking wall.
- It is done once. Built right the first time, the assembly outlasts the tile itself in a busy 90715 household.
Our Process
We hang cement backer board, tape and seal the seams, and apply the bonded membrane before a single tile goes up. Then we dry-fit the layout, set the tile in the correct modified or unmodified thinset, and finish with epoxy or cementitious grout. Bathrooms off Clark Ave get straight lines and a shower that simply does not leak.
